Mark is Chief Technologist of the National Composites Centre in Bristol. He has extensive experience in defining and leading composites and technology development and after spending a few years as Head of Engineering at the NCC he now has responsibility as Engineering Architect for major Aerospace and multi-sector programmes. He is experienced in realising multi-disciplined engineering concepts and developing composite manufacturing methods, including HPRTM, automated deposition, preforming, large scale resin infusion, RTM, prepregging and thermoplastic composites processing. He has been involved in composite technology and capability development for nearly twenty years and has held a number of senior engineering positions including Head of Engineering, Manufacturing Capability Manager and Transnational Manufacturing Leader in large commercial and research organisations. Mark is a Board member of the AGP Manufacturing Working Group and the Aerospace Strategic Sector Team. In recent years, he has led several multi-million pound research programmes involving the engineering development and manufacturing of full scale aerospace composite demonstrators; adopting and developing engineering techniques, advanced materials and manufacturing methods.
