Professor Richard Trask has a Chair in Advanced Materials at the University of Bath and is an EPSRC Early Career Fellow. His research is directed towards the development of the next generation of multifunctional composite materials for 4D Printing, where the material is programmed to grow and transform during additive manufacturing with the goal of creating a manufacturing approach which resembles biological growth. He is currently the Head of the Advanced Design and Manufacturing Group in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Bath, on the American Institute of Aueronautics & Astronautics' (AIAA) Adaptive Structures and Technical Committee and the Steering Committee for the International Conference of Self-Healing Materials. He is the founding Editor of the journal of Multifunctional Materials (Institute of Physics) and also serves as a Board Member on the journal of Smart Materials and Structures (Institute of Physics).
